You would think with Remax being a huge international company minimum service levels would be met but turns out it's just a franchise and Remax South Africa has no sway over what the franchises do or don't do. I listed my property on private property and was contacted by a remax agent asking if they could handle the rental on my behalf working out of town it made sense as showing the property was problematic for me, I was advised I would get my full rental they just take a look at 5% commission upfront so I agreed only to later be told the tenant had seen my listing first and weren't prepared to pay anything more would I be prepared to reduce my rental amount so Remax could still take a monthly commission contrary to what I was originally told but reluctantly I agreed as I didnt want the property standing empty for another month. Two months later the tenant gives notice and I'm advised don't worry you won't suffer any loss we have a new tenant who then moves in, Remax doesn't up the rent to what it should be they just let it out at the reduced price and take a second 5% commission which I dispute, I'm told it was an error and they will sort it out. Almost 4 months of this following up every week first with the agent then head office and eventually with the principal. Not once does anyone come back to you, messages not returned no reply to any emails sent. It's been a more than frustrating ordeal to say the least and would strongly advise anyone against using this company.

This agency has amazing agents who are always willing to help anyone out with any issues.We had a really pleasant time selling our house and the agent always kept me informed and made me aware of all the issues that I might encounter in the future which avoided many hidden or unexpected issues to come later.Thank you RE/MAX

Pathetic service. Lack of communication, lack of interest in customers legitimate concerns. From the agents to the DP(especially the elusive Louis which I suspect only gets involved when money is to be received).Terrible representation of a supposed trusted global brand.

It is the worst, most unprofessional people in the world, very untrustworthy, dont care about their clients only the money that goes into the pocket of Mr Louis de Kock. Disgraceful

I have experienced a very very terrible experience with this agent so much so that they can’t even account for the shortage of the payment transfers. The poor service include, poor communication, ignoring of communications, short payments, failing to Manage, just to make a few challenges I had. Those who obtained good service if any, were very very lucky.

Worst service from an estate agency I've ever received! Since day one our agent gave us the impression that she was not willing to help us due to the fact that we are way out of her way, but we were contacted by her.She gave us an evaluation and listed the house for that price. After two weeks she clearly noticed her mistake and wanted to lower the price. I told her give it up until a month and we'll negotiate on a price to lower it to. Without our consent, she lowered the house that same day to the price she recommended. We had only 4 clients viewing the property who wasn't really interested from the get go. One of them would potentially have made an offer. After asking her for a week and a half what the outcome is after the same excuse every other day, she told me that they aren't interested due to the house having a carport instead of a garage. We told her to up the price to the original amount she gave us as the price she had changed it to was not fair. The drop was R90 000 just after two weeks. After weeks of no feed or communication whatsoever, my husband decided to phone the owner of the branch. After a very abrupt attitude, he told us well

I am not sure if t they racially profiling or what, because I have tried to contact Melia Elis several times with a property we interested in and she reads the message but doesn’t have the decency to at least respond to say whether the property is taken or not. Terrible service.
