What a gem. Ideally located a stone's throw from the sea, next to the quaint little harbour. Lovely boardwalk path to take your meandering thoughts down towards the Palmiet River mouth.

Please be warned.These owners seem desperate for money and will try to charge you for anything and everything. In our case, it was a payment request (which I received immediately after checking out) from the property for being rude to their staff member, Sarina, who upon arrival, immediately made us feel unwelcome and had a problem with us bringing our dogs (after confirming on multiple occasions and reassuring me that the unit we booked was dog-friendly and that we could bring our three small to medium-sized dogs).The above staff member, Sarina, who seemed so lovely on the phone, and who kept reassuring me that the unit was dog-friendly, conveniently forgot that she had even spoken to me on the phone and then told us that our dogs were a problem (after we had just arrived with them at the property!)The owner, Dalene, had a breakfast voucher sent to us to make up for the rude welcome we received because it was my mom’s birthday…which I appreciated…that is, until the payment request came through the moment we checked out…The cameras right outside the door of the property along with the warnings posted around the inside of the unit are enough to make anyone feel that one wrong move and they’ll jump at the opportunity to charge you extra fees.It is a given that any accommodation you stay at should not be left in an absolute mess, so it seems incredibly unnecessary for guests to have to see these printed notices pasted inside (see pictures).

Sarina the host was fabulous.The cottage is extremely well equipped and fantastically comfortable.The scenery is breathtaking. It's the perfect breakaway.

LA MER is well designed, fully equipped and perfectly situated close to the little harbour and within walking distance to nearby restaurants. Everything one might possibly need is available in this amazing seashore accomodation. We thorougly enjoyed our stay!

The views from the house are spectacular, right on the sea. A fantastic welcome from Sarina. House very comfortable and well appointed. Everything has been thought of. This accommodation is truly a gem.

Beautiful place but Dalene and Soretha were both racist and rude. Told us that they counted the wood should we use it and let you people make a noise we'll throw you out at 3am" also had the cameras on.They also wanted us to complete a form with our names and ID numbers. When we asked her if we could supply dates of birth and phone numbers as supplying id numbers didn't sit well with us due to the POPIA

After looking forward to a well deserved holiday for almost 3 years, what an easy way it was to book this gem!! We also received a couple of days before the commencement of our holiday a WhatsApp message from the host - Sarina - who gave us some much needed info before our arrival. Upon our arrival we were met by Sarina (host) for key handover and a de-briefing of all the details of what the accommodation entails. We have opted for the Flat" section of La Mer

Stayed in the house part of La Mer with our two dogs that were welcomed with open arms. Very friendly received with also bunch of flowers. Never been in hired holiday home with everything you can possibly need included in the house. Everything so comfy and also options as to where you want to braai in the open or in braaikamer and gamesroom. Secured parking. Last but absolutely mesmerising and spectacular is the view. You can sit on the coach and watch the fight between the waves and the rocks in the sea in front of you. The best sea view with lively waters I have ever seen from a holiday house. Will be back again and again and again
