Cypress Cottage accommodated my last minute travel plans and Etienne kindly waited up till late evening for me to arrive! The property is beautiful and rich in history! I really enjoyed my few hours of sleep in my very clean and comfortable room! Will definitely be staying here again! PS. Their cookies are amazing!

We spent a weekend there, our bedroom was comfortable , cozy & beautifully furnished. Beautiful garden, with pool area. We and our doggies were made to feel very welcome. We highly recommend Cypress Cottage Guesthouse.

Really well placed guest house in central swellendam. Rooms were clean and well maintained. In the winter it gets really cold and there were more than enough duvets for a warm nights rest. They also give you a small fan heater. So while the room is quite cold when you arrive, dont worry they have made enough provisions for it not to affect your entire stay.Breakfast was really good with hot and cold options being served. One small gripe here was that the coffee was not good at all. I would invest in a small been to cup machine or something of the sort. Also the breakfast room was also very cold (see your breath cold) so maybe put on a heater half an hour before breakfast just to keep the harshest cold at bay.

Well located in walking distance from the old and new part of Swellendam. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need assistance or advice on tourist attractions.The garden is very well maintained which contributes to the calmness of the area.Off street parking available and a swimming/big splash pool for those humid summer days.The family room we stayed in is very spacious and is more than suitable for 4 adults.We made use of the self catering option and did not eat breakfast in the breakfast room.Take note of the following:1. This place is not wheelchair friendly2. I would suggest a fan in the bedroom and an extractor fan in the shower.3. There is a TV room in the main house and not TV in the rooms. However, the Wifi is very fast and good and if you have your own device you will not even miss the TV.4. The rooms are not very soundproof.I will stay here again.

Cypress Cottages are great for a chilled stop. They are within walking distance of great restaurants. They serve a generous breakfast that's included in the accommodation rate. There is also a nice pool with loungers. Only downside is that they don't have a generator during loadshedding and no wi-fi back up. Otherwise lovely place.
