Hout and About Guest House

Would NOT recommend:- rooms are way too small for the price- windows in the room are with milk glass, so you can not even look outside your room- no AC, but just fan / you need to leave the windows open and therefore hear everything from your neighbors room- very beautiful common area. However it is closed at 9 pm - a feeling like any random youth hostel- bed matrazes are very bad, two people will slowly slide to the middle of the bed at any time- service crew is nice, but Thomas the owner never was able to provide decent hospitality- last but not least:We forgot a gin bottle bought as a gift. We told Thomas the owner one day after where we left it, but all we got was lame excuses for 'not finding' it. Not acceptable.There are much better and nicer places in hout bay and in Capetown to spend that amount of money.

Good service will always be the number one criteria for any place we visit, and we got five star service here, from booking online to checking out. The rooms were spotless and i always appreciate a solidly working shower. Breakfast and the view from the breakfast room was as stunning as most other reviewers described, plus the owner has great suggestions if you'r travelling to other parts of the area.

Hout and about was an incredible experience that managed to showcase the best of what Cape Town has to offer. Amazing views and amazing service in a beautifully furnished and maintained home with great proximity to all the attractions of Hout Bay. Thomas was very accommodating and addressed any difficulties that arose swiftly and kindly. I would recommend spending time at Hout and About to anyone who wants a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff are excellent and so friendly! Beautiful rooms, fantastic views and the breakfast was great! We will definitely book a room again in the future.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay! Thomas and Alice were gracious and thoughtful hosts. Our room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. Thomas is an excellent chef. The caprese omlette was mind blowing! The guesthouse has breathtaking views of Houtbay and a lovely pool. We look forward to staying with you guys again!
