RE/MAX Winners - Phalaborwa

Do not use Re/max Phalaborwa and Christelle Victor in particular as a rental agent. They will steal from you.1. Did not return my deposit with interest as stipulated by law.2. Did not conduct an exit inspection with me, even though I gave ample notice and requested an inspection, because Christelle was away. (This was only one of her many excuses of unavailability from even before I started renting)3. Proceeds to deduct money from my deposit for damages of the paint, that was already there when I moved in. The paint was pealing off the walls all over. More pealing occurred while I lived in the apartment from paint pealing around cables installed by the landlord to aircon remote holders falling off the walls. But some how a poor paint job is my fault as the tenant.4. Only received my deposit back 2.5 months after moving out. after constant follow up from me.I don't think I need to state the obvious that it is against the rental act to not pay interest on deposits. Withholding money from deposits if an exit inspection is not done with the tenant is also for fitted according to the act. It is not my problem if the agent is not available at the time I stipulated well in advance that I am moving out.This behavior among agents is becoming prevalent, they continuously don't follow rental laws even setting up contracts that goes against these laws which is illegal. Taking money from deposits while not following the law is also fraudulent.
