Trip up Sani Pass is always a wonderful experience. The views from the Sani Mountain Pub and restaurant never dissappoints. Sadly, I found the restaurant needing some TLC , the food not great , under par for the prices and yesterday whatever i ordered was not available. This one stop experience at the top of Sani Pass has lost its charm . I Know times are tough but i thought that seeing this is one of the border posts going into Lesotho surely either the border post or the Sani Mountain Lodge should have information on Lesotho for travellers going further on. Saying that, I will be back though for the trip and VIEW.

Food was good but not great, definitely a sweet experience to enjoy a meal and a beer in the highest pub of Africa ! We didn’t have a chance with visibility that day when we did the Sani Pass but at least we had the chance to discover a new country and a cosy spot.

If you go up Sani Pass you simply have to stop at Sani top. The restaurant offers decent food , good service and spectacular views over the pass. Throughly enjoy visiting Sani top.

Just took a day trip up. The bar was nice and warm, and the staff were great.

The hotel's location is incredible and a must stop for a drink or meal for any day trip up Sani Pass, but unfortunately the hotel seems to have taken advantage of this status by turning the restaurant into what is effectively a tourist trap. The food was well below average and incredibly expensive for what it was. It also took nearly an hour for our (very basic) meals to arrive. The food was well below average and massively overpriced. R100 for a bowl of packet soup (as in soup made from powder from a packet), R105 for a very small, previously frozen supermarket pie and a small portion of undercooked chips and R100 for very basic toasted sandwiches and a small portion of likewise undercooked chips. It also took nearly an hour for the food to arrive.Drinks were also very expensive. Stop for a (expensive) beer or glass of wine, but I definitely wouldn't recommend more than that.

The trip up Sani Pass is always exciting and an adventure. HOWEVER, the food was under par, far too expensive for the extremely small servings and very slack service. A few years ago the quality, portions and prices were great. Sani Pub somehow has lost its charm.

Amazing lodge, people and atmosphere. The food is good, the drinks (and the included sherry in the room) are great, and the views (if the weather is nice) are amazing. Bring something warm, since the wind is strong and even in the summer, the temperatures can get close to freezing at night.
