Gandhi Square
Ghandi Square is my favourite safe space in the big city of Gold. It keeps the old spirit of sleek and business Joburg going. It is unfortunately the only sane connecting nerve for the city that gradually slumming away.Thank goodness to the massive investment of OPHC to keep the area true to it's heritage quality, those old magnificent buildings still show some life. Go around there and take a moment to admire the architectural majestic building around the square.

Gandhi Square
Nice commercial and transit hub.Couple of spots to sit down while you wait for your bus and have a meal or visit one of the restaurants and fast food places overlooking the square.Seemed well guarded so I felt pretty safe with guards pretty much all around. You might get the occasional person asking for some money or some of your food (I got 2 people in the hour I spent there). If I could have my way, it would be lovely if the square could have some street food stands!

Gandhi Square
I actually visited ghandi Square for the very first time and I won't lie, I was pretty nervous considering the fact that Jozi isn't my playground but I grew to love the area. It was so vibrant, colorful and comprised of a decent amount of commotion - an independent taste and experience of Jozi on my own was elite

Gandhi Square
I enjoyed being here today. Reminiscent of the older days when I used to transit between buses. This place has developed quite well over the years. The presence of newer businesses, retail stores, banks, fast food and sit in restaurants, clubs nearby and chill area spots makes this places a convenient are to be in. With all this new developments, it has maintained its standard of cleanliness. There are public restrooms in the vicinity and a bus ticket office booth. ATMs are on site too. This place is close to many residential buildings and Carlton Centre is in walking distance.

Gandhi Square
One the of the City Centre's main transport terminuses, Gandhi Square is where most commuter Metro Bus services start and end. The square is named for Mahatma Gandhi who once worked here as a lawyer when the square was known as Government Square and was home to the city's law courts.Gandhi came to South Africa in 1893. Over time he became active in the politics of resistance, calling for Indian and Chinese people (classified as non-white) to burn their pass (identity) books. He was tried, convicted and sentenced for this. He left for India In 1914 having shaped and established his policy of passive resistance, 'Satyagraha'. His time as a lawyer in Johannesburg is remembered in a 2.5metre statue on the square. Unveiled on October 2 (Gandhi's birthday) in 2003, Tinka Christopher’s bronze statue a young Mohandas Gandhi as a lawyer, a gown over his suit, and a book beneath his arm as he looks ahead.Behind the Gandhi statue is the beautiful heritage building Somerset House which was restored in 2019

Gandhi Square
Still clean and easy to navigate. Please beef up the security a bit more and have buses run more frequently over the weekend

Nice place to commute. Bus schedules are always on par and hassle free. I think the security can be upgraded though because anything can happen in the CBD. None the less, it is a great place.
