USELESS GOVERNMENT, SERVICE AND WASTE OF OUR TAX MONEY. YOU DESERVE 0 STARS .I applied for amendments for my two children, in Sept 2021, to this date nothing has been done over a year.I call the call centre hold for 30 minutes to be told the very same thing over and over again.

My experience with Johannesburg Home Affairs is becoming worse. The service is getting poorer each day.I waited on the que for 2 days just to collect passport. Is there a reason why Home Affairs' is not arranging all passports, ID's, certificates alphabetically each day.We not supposed to have long ques for just collection, the officials supposed to go outside and let people write their names, and go inside and sort those ID's, passports, certificates and call everyone for that.If they are too busy, they must employ extra hands, even volunteers to sort this mess that is getting out of hand.Until date I have not received my passport, if the system is not offline, they cant assist us because of time. I have to leave work early for nothing.

Went to this branch for 2 days in a row. Their system was offline. I got the assistance I was looking for at Germiston branch. Imagine it took me an hour to do my Id application at Germiston Branch.

The more I deal with Johannesburg Internal Affairs, the worse it gets. Every day, the service is becoming worse.I waited in line for my passport for two days. Why doesn't Home Affairs organize all passports, IDs, and documents alphabetically every day?

The workers at this place are horrible and I never want to deal with them again !!!!!!!!!We were here for hours bcs the call numbers kept getting lost as a result I had to retake photos at the photo booth twice2. The workers prioritize gossip rather than working ... the lady's and the guy at the id application side were rude and so unnecessary especially the guy who worked at dest no.7 today3. There was a problem with my fingerprints and I was told I couldn't not help my son with his ID (1st time) bcs mii fingerprints were not appearing on their system... we asked the lady supervisor and she said that's not true(mentioned something about SOP) and the guy still defied her .The place is neat and huge ... orderly and all but some of the employees are rude . If only I got the desk 7 guy I would've sued him bcs he was rude .... the photo booth operator at no.15 today was kind and very patient... we need more like him also the lady at desk 2As for the two at dest 7 and 8 ... I hate them for what they put us through today ... my son even cried when we were in the car and it's not acceptableI would rather go to another place

It is a very hygenic well organised government branch that I have visited recently. There is more than enough sitting or waiting areas for every services that citizens are coming for. Keep this department so attractive and well organised.

Pleasantly surprised at how organised it is. It just needs a proper information sheets and step by step process online so before someone walks in the building they must know what they need to have and where they will be going

We went today for my son’s child passport; we booked online at an FNB branch but had to cancel due to a sports commitment - not knowing at the time that you aren’t allowed to rebook at a bank branch but have to book via the BABS link to go into a DHA office within 60 days or forfeit your R400 prepayment; so we opted for Jhb office as it was the only appointment available. We weren’t allowed in until 5 minutes before our appointment slot (11-12) so had to wait outside for 25 minutes with our 12 yr old son - not ideal. Once inside - the staff are professional and polite; efficient & responsive - it’s clean and well-organised. Only criticisms are 1) no digital display system so several people shouting out numbers so we missed our call; 2) when I went up to ask - the lady was really nice and helped right away but told us we needed to do online verification of our parent IDs at another counter, which no one mentioned on arrival - we were turned away from that counter because the computer was offline and had to go up to the 5th floor and wait another 10 minutes for the verification to be done - all could have been done in the time we waited downstairs; and 3) we were asked to leave the building after we had finished even though we felt unsafe standing outside waiting for our Uber - there are many people milling around and it’s best not to linger - take no expensive possessions with you apart from a phone and your documents & a card to pay (unless prepaid online). Book your taxi as soon as you finish inside and remain in the main hall until your ride is right outside before leaving the building.

I honestly had low expectations, considering the Alberton Branch. Was there today to do ID and passport. Although it takes a while staff are friendly and efficient.Just the toilet for ladies was dirty and had no toilet paper
