Active Escapes

I recently ran a trail run adventure with Pirates Running Club. Sarah from Active Escapes did such a fantastic job with the planning and logistics. We spent four days running from Morgan Bay to Hole in the Wall. Active Escapes managed the hotel bookings, transport, river crossings, packed lunches, route maps, luggage transfers and so much more that went on behind the scenes.Thank you Sarah and your team for a job well done.

I arranged a group to hike the Wild Coast Meander in March and absolutely loved working with Sarah. The group grew to 17 which was a challenge, but she rose to it and the planning was seamless and very professional. We knew what was happening every step of the way. We hiked from Cobb Inn to Morgan Bay with a 2 day stop at Serendipity (a highlight!). I highly recommend Sarah and will definitely be arranging future adventures with her. Special thanks to her.

Maseka trail was an amazing experience. We went expecting a bush walk but got so much more . We experienced elephants up close on foot .Never did we think it was possible to feel so calm but it was under the expert guidance of our guide Ruaan What a life changing experience.Camping in the open was really exhilarating and true bush wonder Everything was so well done We lived everything and would highly recommend it

Our of group of 20 (European and Asian based) just finished a 6N Drakensberg and Battlefields adventure under the expert advice and guidance of Sarah and Active Escapes. The combination of taking a middle aged team of trekkers to their healthy limit during the day and facilitating 4 convivial lodge locations for the evening unwind was an amazing eye opener for our group. Active Escapes arranged our international links, challenging trekking ( Amphitheatre and Cathedral Peak in particular ), guides, porters and accommodation. Sarah’s patience, enthusiasm and constant smile only added to the experience. 20 new converts to the wilds and wonders that the SA outdoors has to offer. Bravo!

Pondo Hopper in October was an amazing experience. Truly enjoyed the tented camps and the Beautiful nature we came across during the hike. Everything was wonderfully organised, we did not have to care for anything. The guides were very caring and shared their knowledge with us - definitely will come back.

We organised the Pondo Explorer hike of the Wild Coast through Active Escapes/Sarah and everything was absolutely brilliant! The hike was exceptionally organised and tailor-made with all logistics and every amenity taken care of. The hike itself was absolutely spectacular and I cannot recommend exploring this untouched coastal area enough. The overnight camps were in perfectly pristine locations, all next to beaches and estuaries and we were well looked after by the friendly guides and camp managers. I would never visit this area with a different company - Sarah/Active Escapes were superb and made for an unforgettable and incredible hiking experience and Im already trying to figure out dates to organise another - If you haven't visited the area or used Active Escapes before - go do so NOW!!!!!

Our family experienced the most incredible hiking trip through the Transkei with the assistance and amazing service from Active Escapes. Sarah was extremely hospitable towards our needs as a group and made the organisation of the holiday an absolute breeze. We felt completely taken care of throughout and nothing was too much to ask. Our local guide was absolutely wonderful and allowed us to walk a pace that the entire family felt comfortable with. It was also fascinating to find out more about the local community which was told and shared through his eyes. We would highly recommend Active Escapes services and will definitely be using them again in the near future for another life-changing experience.

All and I mean really everything we could think off regarding logistics and accommodation were 110% taken care of ... we were 10 ladies in our group and we enjoyed every moment ...the guides were wonderful too and taught us a lot of the area and the rich history! We did the Pondohopper recently from Msikaba to Port St Johns. We had THE most amazing time, and we LOVED the hike. We are all blown away at the friendly and efficient service, and what the staff manages to achieve in such remote locations! The accommodation is incredible, the situation of the lodges stunning, and the hike itself just blows one away… The guides were friendly and very helpful, too.

We were a group of 12 ladies that did a customised Wildcoast Hotel Hopping slackpacking hike from Chebe to Morgans Bay.Active Escapes organised everything A to Z: transfers, hotels, guides etc etc. We only had to pitch up to have a marvelous time!The stay at each overnight stay was unique and most enjoyable - Serendipity Guesthouse, Wavecrest Hotel, Seagulls Hotel and Morgans Bay Hotel.
