Really free, space, and a lovely walk, safe for kids to play in the sand. We took lovely photos

Awesome beach in St James that out the way of the main stream beach. Absolutely stunning views across the bay. Dogs kids and beach bay and ball all welcome. It's also very safe for kids as the shore break is small... and you can also surf here. Bring the whole family

One of the best tidel pools in Cape Town with the iconic huts which was recently rebuilt. Cleaned every morning which makes the beech a fun visit. Can get busy so go early

This place is known as St James tidal pool, I have plunged into the icy cold waters in the early hours of the morning, something that has become a norm for a few early beach goers. I would highly recommend the challenge. So good for you! Also recommend Beach shoes , but it is perfectly accessible and fun without. Those shoes make it more comfortable. There are some rock formations near the end of the pool that I love to stand in. Lots of sea life, so bring goggles and a snorkel. Fun for a few hours or a whole.part of the day or more. Perfect to pack a picnic and for a family outing. Sad that the beautiful little colorful wooden house were removed. 10 out of 10 for awesome beach to visit.

We had a lovely evening swim with the kids. Absolutely wonderful. There were many families there enjoying the late afternoon cooler weather. The one thing that always gets me angry is...why do people need to litter? Can't they take their rubbish with them and dump it at home? There were two security guys that came to monitor the area. The shower to rinse yourself off, does not work so it's maybe a good idea to bring a bottle of water with you to rinse yourself off. It's a lovely place and we will go there again.

Very small but relaxing beach. Does not get to crowded and is nicely sheltered from the South Easter with the mountains behind. Great view of Falsebay.

A beautiful clean beach. The multi-coloured huts have been beautifully restored. The tidal pool is great for those cold water emersions. Ideally wear water shoes - there's a lot of pebbles and bits of shell and rocks. Many people do go bare footed. We like parking in Muizenberg and then walking along the path to St James.
