General Info:
1.Early application for admission to all programmes is advised.
2.For post-matric programmes applicants must have passed Grade 12 / N3 / Level 4 or its equivalent.
3.Use November Grade 11 or September

By signing the application form, the applicant (and his parents/guardian where applicable) undertakes to comply with the rules and regulations of the College and to pay the prescribed fees.

 

Applications for admission are subject to selection;
Correct parent/guardian details must be provided and verified at the time of registration.
After immediate verification, if falsified information is given on the application form, the application will be cancelled and the student/parent/guardian will be held liable for any costs incurred.


If a student fails to comply with the above, the College Council reserves the right to cancel such registration.

Registration and Tuition Fees
Students will not be admitted to the College unless fees as prescribed have been paid in full or the necessary arrangements made.

 

Registration Date
Student registration will take place in accordance with the registration dates as contained in the College calendar.

Cancellation of Registration and Refund of Fees
A student may cancel registration within the first 10 days of the commencement of classes. After this date, the student will be held liable for all outstanding class fees. No refunding of class fees will be considered 10 days after commencement of classes, except in cases of serious illness and/or death.

 

80% Attendance
1.Crane Skills Training Academy International will apply the 80 % attendance rule, in order to ensure that better academic results and greater discipline is attained in the class room.
2.The consequence of this is that students, who do not attend classes for 80% of class time upon registration, will not be allowed entry into the examinations.
3.This will be reconciled with the respective student's marks to establish whether they qualify academically.
4.Where bursary allocations are less than the demand, the student's attendance record of the previous year, will be taken into consideration for a Bursary.

The admission requirements for national diploma: policing NQf level 6
1.No criminal record
2.Not younger than 17 years
3.South African Citizen
4.No visible tattoos
Being noted that the minimum requirement proposed by the SASSETA for admission is Grade 12 Or NQF Level 4

NOTE:Preference is given to employed students Foreign students’ qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA and they must have a valid study permit. Due to the great influx of students in each term, preference is given to the category of students linked to the first bullet, as well as our current students. N4 Certificate

 

Passed Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
Appropriate National certificate N3
Equivalent qualification on Level 4
*A student who wants to enrol for Management Assistant, must take Introductory Information Processing N4 if he/she does not have Computyping/Computer Application Technology Grade 12. In order to obtain his/her N6 Diploma, he/she must pass Information Processing N6. A student, who wants to enrol for Financial Management, must take Introductory Accounting N4 if he/she does not have Accounting Grade 12. In order to obtain his/her N6 certificate, he/she must Financial Accounting N6

N5 Certificate

Passed N4 with 4 subjects on the same level

Passed N4 with 3 subject on the same level

N6 Certificate Passed N5 with 4 subjects on the same level

DURATION OF QUALIFICATION

 

1.Business Studies Semester subjects
Duration:75-78 Lecturing Daysfull-time programmes vary from 6 months.
2.Engineering Trimester Subjects
Duration:46 - 49 Lecturing Days full-time engineering programmes are offered in trimesters (3 months).

 

Evaluation and examination.

Programmes are theoretically assessed by means of tests and assignments.  Since practical competency is continually evaluated, 100%    class    attendance is compulsory.
Engineering Studies Department of Higher Education Training theoretical examination takes place in 3 blocksin a year at the end of each Trimester. That is;
1.March-April
2.July-Aug
3.November-December
Business - & General Studies Department of Higher Education Training theoretical examination takes place in 2 blocksin a year at the end of each Semester. That is;
1.May-June
2.November-December
It is the responsibility of the   student to  ensure that   he   /  she   is  registered for   the   examination and   for   the   correct subjects and that he / she qualifies to write the exam in terms of term marks and attendance.

We will:
Register you with the DHET for your exams after we have received the following certified copies from you:
1.your ID document,
2.your highest school qualification, and
3.your previous N-level certificate,
4.Forward your year marks to the Department.
5.Send  you  your  proof  of  admission  from  the  Department  after  completion  of  the  exam registration process.
6.Send you your Statement of Results if you are not in arrears with your payments.
7.Make the necessary arrangements at the exam venue to accommodate you for the examination.


ASSESSMENT

The pass requirement is a minimum of 40% per subject. Evaluations are cumulative, based on regular class tests. At the end of each trimester an external examination is written.
1.Assessment Tasks Constituting the ICASS Trimester Mark
2.Each student must complete two assessment tasks in the form of the two tests per trimester, Test 1 mark  is Converted to 30% and test 2 mark  is Converted to 70%
3.Only the marks achieved in the two tests will be used to compile the ICASS mark for the subject.

The pass requirement is a minimum of 40% per subject. Evaluations are cumulative, based on regular class tests. At the end of each Semester an external examination is written.

2.Each student must complete two assessment tasks in the form of the two tests per trimester, Test 1 mark  is Converted to 20% , test 2 mark  is Converted to 30% and Internal Examination is converted to 50% convening 80% of the syllabus content
3.Only the marks achieved in the three tests will be used to compile the ICASS mark for the subject.

 

Additional information:

N courses are offered and assessed by Crane Skills Training Academy International. After gaining a qualifying year mark, students will be admitted to write the national examination to one of our campuses. Read our N4-N6 Exam-letter for information on writing the exams.
After students have completed this course, and submitted proof that they have completed 18 months of practical in-service training or workplace experience, they will be awarded a National N Diploma.
