Nambiti Plains Lodge
We stayed at Nambiti Plains Lodge for 3 days and 2 nights. This was our first-ever safari trip in South Africa and Nambiti Plains Lodge did not disappoint. The honeymoon suite is super spacious and will definitely book this room again when we come back. I loved how they kept our suite clean especially when we were out for the game drive. It was really nice coming back to a clean room all the time. The wifi connection was also strong and stable, I’m impressed. The full board meal was amazing (delicious and also very filling), thanks to Chef Carla and Chef Menzi. They also accept other food requests (subject to availability). We were extremely lucky to have witnessed a Cheetah preying on an Impala and by far we have seen (almost) all the big five such as the lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. Shout out to our guide, Sheldon, who has great personality and is truly passionate about what he does. Thank you Sheldon for sharing with us your knowledge and for making sure that we enjoy the game drive as first-timers. We look forward to having you as our guide when we come back. Last but not the least, kudos to Magdel and the team for the amazing hospitality! Thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful home, a piece of paradise. By far, this had been our best holiday experience. We will definitely come back and recommend Nambiti Plains Lodge to family and friends overseas.

Our game ranger, Graeme was incredibly attentive and ensured that we had the best possible viewing experience, even if it meant driving long distances within the reserve. The food was excellent and all staff were friendly, creating an atmosphere of a home way from home." Wonderful experience all round."

We stayed at Nambiti Plains for our honeymoon and it was honestly one of the best experiences we have had.The staff were friendly, attentive and considerate, everyone was always willing to accommodate any request we had.The tour guide we had was extremely knowledgeable about not just the animals but also about tracking, plant life and insects. The lodge itself is situated in the perfect location to view grazing animals but we also got lucky and saw a cheetah one morning. Our room faced a second watering hole so we woke up to the lovely grazing animals and a giraffe or two.We were treated like royalty, the lodge had a few surprises and we were treated to a picnic on a lovely rock face next to a waterfall, we had a dinner in our room on the last night and the lodge had set up flowers, drew a bath and lit candles for a great romantic experience. The food is an added bonus, the meals were delicious, and there were many options for vegetarians. The lodge is a great experience and I would recommend it for any traveler!

Nambiti Plains Lodge
It is a veritable game reserve with a homely 5 star touch. From the general staff to the rangers who possess a refreshing dedication to their profession. If you want the option to disconnect from the concrete jungle and truly experience the country's 'Big 5' game in comfort and security, give this place a firm shot. My suggestion is that there be a minimum 3 night stay, 1 night to simply unwind, 1 day to run around the reserve and the last to catch up on what the reserve has to offer.

Our room was situated near a well-visited watering hole on the plains. It makes for an immersive experience with many wild animals going about their day all around you without a care. The rooms are large and tastefully appointed. Large bath, inside and outdoor showers and vast collapsible doors to open your whole room onto the immense viewing deck and ,indeed, onto the plains themselves. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We were warmly welcomed back from each of our twice daily game drives as if we were arriving anew. Lungelo and Siya waited to our every need all day long and wondered aloud whether we had seen the cubs (we didn't), Magda and Bettie made us feel like we were the only guests there. And the chef baked a cake for my wife's birthday - and arranged a private romantic dinner for us in our room. The best part of our 5-day stay was Graham, our guide during the game drives. Every outing was a thrilling search for big game, sometimes stumbling upon a herd of Buffalo emerging suddenly from the tall grass, or the family of Elephants appearing one-by-one out of the Acacia thicket to gather on the road in front of us, perhaps for the matriarch's head count - 14 - and then move on to be swallowed yet again by the thicket. Other times we follow faint tracks in the mud, occasionally seeing them gain definition further up the trail, Graham gaining confidence - he postulates that there's some kind of dispute in the pride. A family of three giraffe watches us from the ridge to our west as we meander the challenging roads while we search for more signs on the dark, sticky clay trails. We eventually find a solitary juvenile male looking unsettled - he's searching for his brother - later all the rangers agree that the two young brothers have been expelled by the older males. As if to confirm this theory, that evening the large dominant male saunters across the plain as we settle for dinner - we can see him from where we dine with the assistance Graham's torch lighting up his mane - looks like he's delivered his message. He's chased the young boys north across the Sondags river and he's heading to the south to rejoin his pride. Nambiti Plains is right in the center of the reserve. If you're so fortunate to find Graham still guiding tours at Nambiti Plains, take at least one drive with him. If he isn't there, find him wherever he is and stay there a while. He'll tell you about his dad and the bucks. And you'll become friends.

I had an amazing stay here. Everyone goes above and beyond in making your stay top notch. Ranger Jason was so great. He made our rides so much fun and we saw quite a bit with him. The food was fantastic. I stayed in room 1 which I quite enjoyed. The bed was super comfy, the bathtub was incredible and the outdoor shower is a nice touch! Thanks again for a wonderful time.
