Very poor quality product and workmanship and VERY shocking service from Rudi at Unique Coatings!I bought a house last year where waterproofing was done by Unique Coatings on a section of the roof in 2020. The previous owner as well as myself have contacted Rudi about the problematic waterproofing but the leaks persevere! Rudi is NOT honoring his so called 10 year" warranty. Rudi is EXTREMELY rude

Had our roof repaired and waterproofed in 2018. Still had leaking problems, contacted them. They sent a guy to fix once and we were advised that there should be no more problems. However to date the roof still leaks and now they ignore us flat out. Not happy with this company and will not recommend them. Have 10 year guarantee which means nothing.

Really poor experience with Unique Coating, and they still have not finished the job that the committed to. They also increased the quote in the middle of the job by R2000 without showing me what needed to be changed or why it was not quoted in the first place.They have extremely rude staff (Rudi), who became very aggressive on a call because he wanted payment without the work being checked.The work is not complete, and they were informed over 2 months ago and still no resolution. They are now ignoring messages as they promised that it would be resolved as per the job card.Please do not use this company they are not ethical and don't care about customer relations.PS, also noticed that employees (Johan Venter) are reviewing the company, surely to increase their Google rating

After paying the required 50% deposit to secure a booking for damp proofing we cancelled the agreement 12 days later as Rudie could not provide a start date. Rudie has subsequently refused to return our deposit. Communication with Rudie and his company is poor.

The team was professional and once they started they new exactly what they needed to do and completed the job. We are impressed with our new roof and all the additional little extras. Thank You so much.

Be very careful to understand the terms of their guarantees. There is always an out in these agreements, which will leave you in the lurge. Its dependent on regular service intervals, for which they charge about 1/3rd of the original job. This is the case even when the guarantee you are claiming is unrelated to the service work. And believe me: you ARE going to need the guarantee.Our facia boards started peeling after only one year, for the simple reason that they didn’t bother using a primer of any kind. I was told workmanship only has a 1 year guarantee…so this excuse could then be used on ANY of their work, making their guarantees generally useless. And when they came to repaint these boards, they were planning to do the same thing again! I had to insist several times that they use a primer.Our water damp issues have started up again, 1 year later. For this I was told it rained a lot and it takes a very long time for walls to completely dry. I must just touch it up. Nice. Actually its because they didn’t leave it long enough to dry out completely before covering and painting again.Our gutters started changing colour after only 1 year and I was initially told its because I don’t wash them. Jup, you read that right.In short: I strongly suggest you consider using someone else.

I must say I find it very insulting that an invoice for outstanding payment has been sent for work Unique has not even completed.1. Unique gladly accepted the deposit and estimated 3 days’ worth of work.2. Your subcontractor arrived and completed the work in less than a three quarter day - please can I have an explanation? Is due to your inspector’s incompetence or your subcontractors skimping on quality?3. After some rain yesterday afternoon the sub - contractor informed us that he will be back to complete the work for today. This took an entire 10 min this morning.4. Half panted trusses left undone.5. Paint dripping onto paving – patch on roof where paint is dripping from not inspected and resolved.6. Unique has not even had the decency to send an inspector out to validate an unsupervised sub-contractors work.7. No warranty certificate issued.I especially used a “reputable” company at a higher cost to ensure quality, peace of mind, service and professionalism.How am I expected to pay what has been delivered.I have received no call or follow up from Unique.Disgusting!

No reply to query regarding flaking roof paint 3 years into a 10 year guarantee.While acknowledging extremely poor workmanship on original job, nearly 4 months since complaint submitted and only 1 day spent so far on rectifying problem.

We made use of the services of Unique Coatings in order to repair and rehabilitate our boundary wall, which had not been treated in many years. The quotation process was professionally done, including all detail, and supplied promptly. The pricing was in line versus other quotes received. Timing schedules of work were agreed, and the job completed without incident. Communication from the company office as well as from the owner himself was very good and accommodating. The job turned out very well, no problems at all.
