Firstly Elke and her staff is amazing with regards to being hands on and providing the BEST possible service they could. She is quite accommodating to certain requests we had. This made things much easier for us.The place in itself is breathtaking and peaceful, the sounds of chirping birds and nature came through so clearly, compared to the busy city life we all know. If you need a place where signal does not come through strongly than go to Oak Lane because you'll truly get to experience life in it's fullness. This place has a magical rusty taste with a slight modern comfort. But if it's luxury you are looking for this is not that. This is a setting for nature lovers and those that appreciate a back in time feel". This was our 2nd time returning and we returned with our entire family and they all had such a great time.A bonus is the lovely lake in summertime along with the complementary canoes. It's a setting not to miss out on. We will be of the one's that are returning guests each year :)One thing that should be added to the cottages are washing lines."

Wow, what a beautiful place! Oak Lane was truly a dream to stay at and the perfect choice for our wedding. Elke and Mariette made our stay an absolute joy and made everything so easy and welcoming. The cottages are extremely comfortable and adorable with everything you could need. And the best part is the nature all around. The trees and the flowers make for a magical and mystical experience.

Ideal if you really want to get away from everything but do not want to travel very far away from it all! This quite valley accommodation nestled among the Oak's is ideal for people that want to take an electronic break. Elke the new manager/owner is working hard under the restraints of Covid to make your stay as wonderful and relaxing as possible. There are several options of cottages for different size groups/families... We had a cute 2 sleeper with a bath and kitchen unit...we sat outside under the trees while having a braai. You can also walk up the hill on the farm if you feel the need for some exercise...there is a nice big dam where you can spend the day and go rowing and swimming. If you organise with Elke she will pack you a picnic basket to have under the trees on the blankets. Very relaxing.We also drove to Hermanus one day to go and explore the town and walk along the promenade. We also drove to Kleinmond for a mid-morning/lunch, easy drive to take a walk on the beach and explore the town. There are many other little 'dorpies' within reach for you to drive to and explore. A definite MUST is the Elgin Railway Market...an amazing, repurposed Railway building with the best pizza I've had in a long time. Do yourself a favour and do not miss it.

Not that bad my people few thing must be attended signal also its bad try to get free WIFI or signal airial even if u can WIFI us with R10 per Cottages

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Oaklane cottages. The accomodation was simple but comfortable with lovely linen. There are only baths in the cottages but nice modern communal showers.The scenery is beautiful. We spent lots of time picnicing under the oak trees and walking up to a stunning dam where you can swim or canoe. The children enjoyed the freedom and rode their bikes safely around the farm.The host, Elke was amazing and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time.The cyclists in the group enjoyed the well maintained cycling trails that are close by.A really lovely place to stay with a group of friends or family.We will definitely stay at Oaklane again.

Simple and unsophisticated but a perfect launchpad for exploring Elgin food, wines and awesome mountain biking trails.

Nice and quiet. Nice to explore the farm. Lovely cottages.

Very disappointed. We booked here thinking it would be a great place to spend a weekend. No wifi, no signal, so you can't even phone the owners if you have a problem. No such luck. These cottages need a major revamp, say no more, just look at the pics.

Oak Lane Cottages was an absolute dream to stay at. I would highly recommend it. Elke is an incredible host, so friendly and welcoming, and unbelievably helpful. The location is beautiful. Truly a great spot to escape for an enjoyable and restful break.
