Arrived here with a group. Was our first hotel in Australia. I didn’t have a choice where to stay but have stayed in other Ibis hotels globally. This one had the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good is location and the service was good where I dealt with them. Breakfast was alright but better than some on my trip. Seems to be used heavily by EF Tours. The bad - no wash cloths. You need one so bring it or buy a scrubber at Wookiee or Coles down the road. The ugly - had some stained sheets. Comes with these types of hotels but a bit off putting. Also not very vehicle friendly so keep that in mind if you are dropped off or picked up. It’s on a very steep hill

Helpful, friendly concierge. Rooms clean, towels fluffy, bed comfortable, water hot. Basic but comfortable and affordable. Great location, close to transport and restaurants. When air con went wrong staff fixed it in a jiffy. Would stay here again. On arrival don't use the William St entrance, go up and around the back.

Got moved to a new room with 20 minutes of check-in because several appliances were broken. This was the best service i had for my 2 week stay. The second room has fewer broken appliances but cockroaches in the shower. Stains on walls and sheets. Bathroom hadnt had a solid clean in a while. You get a kettle and small fridge, that's it. You can hear people in other rooms and halls. Talked to reception a couple of times about random things like copy of bill, etc, they always conveniently needed to take a call. I was happy to say it's not a perfect place but you will live, until a cleaner stole some of my food from my room. I assume it was a cleaner because the alternative is much worse. I was staying alone. Reception just brushed it off and told me they have used the same staff for 12 years, and they have never. Cool, I don't care it's not common, I care they don't do it again to someone else. Consider other options before booking

Nice location with a great view of the Sydney Harbour. The room was clean and comfortable, except for the noisy heater (we chose to turn it off in a cold night because the noise didn’t let us sleep). What’s also regrettable is that there were no basic amenities available, even for purchase. I understand if it’s a budget hotel so they don’t provide it for free. But we checked in near midnight when other stores had closed, and when I asked if the receptionist had any toothbrush and tooth paste in stock for me to buy, they said that they didn’t have any.Another thing to note, there were 2 entrances. We came in through the lower entrance with heavy luggages and had to climb lots of stairs, and the staff did not even inform us that there was another entrance without steps, let alone helped us to carry the heavy luggages upstairs (they knew we were coming, the receptionist answered the buzzer and unlocked the lower entrance door for us).

Would not recommend. Although it is cost effective, the rooms are dirty. The walls in particular. Why are the walls dirty? Who knows! But it is a tiny room (I mean seriously tiny) and not clean. The staff were very nice. And the water pressure in the shower was great!Location to Kings Cross is great, but downtown it is a bit of a trek. We ubered more than we would have liked. But lots of restaurants & things within close walking distance. We canceled our return stay when we leave Australia and booked a different Accor hotel. I've previously stayed in an ibis budget near Venice, Italy and it was great! This one in Sydney is just not clean.

We recently stayed in this hotel. I wouldn't recommend. Room was infested with bedbugs and scabies...My son is suffering from last 1 week now... thought we got refund from the hotel but its not worth watching him suffer.. its very bad experience for us... that incident spoiled half of my trip ..so disappointing. hard lesson learned for me.. cheap is not always good :(

I think that this is a very worth it hotel. It has okay spacing for the price, the toilets are nice and staff is friendly. Comparing this to a 5 star hotel is not right, this is worth the price as it's only around 200 for 4 people night which includes a buffet style breakfast for only 19 dollars a day for 4 people. The beds are reasonable comfy with the room being modern. Overall it's a respectable hotel and definitely worth the price. It also has good restaurants nearby with a very accessible train station. Also don't forget about the massive coke sign near it. :)
