Flycatcher Castle

I wish could give this place 10 stars, absolutely fabulous. Eduard and Willem are amazing hosts. Dinner and breakfast are a spoil, the castle is gorgeous and the history is a soap opera. Eduard has so many stories to share. Loved every moment and will definitely return.

Loved it!! Quirky and creatively decorated, filled with interesting art and beautiful furniture. The rooms are all perfectly decorated. The Mozart room is romantic, with a fabulous bathroom. Supremely comfortable beds with fine linen. Manie's gourmet dinner is not to be missed! its a truly special place, for a romantic break, or just to get away to a magical place.

The whole experience of staying at Flycatcher castle was extraordinarily. I loved the whole setup and themes of every room. Admire the blunt art and thoughts of the artist/owner. Would love to visit the place again.

The mystique, intrigue, history and story behind this hidden little gem in Graskop is truly worth a visit. Rich in beautiful artwork, antique furniture, and bedrooms steeped in rich colors, furnishings and of course comfort.This is not a child friendly place, it is a romantic getaway with a difference. Built to replicate a medieval castle - you truly are transported to a bygone Era.The establishment offers only double beds in each suite with the Ruby being the most sort after with its own private heated indoor splash pool. You need to book this suite weeks in advance but oh so worth it.Breakfast is excellent. Views extraordinary and ambiance soul soothing with hosts equally lovely.

Our Honeymoon stay over was booked for the 3rd of April. On 7th of March we get a email informing us the Owner decided to close down the Castle and we need to find alternative accommodation. Literally our entire Honeymoon and trip was planned around the Castle as this was going to be the highlight. I am super disappointed with the short notice and now sit with the stress of having to find alternative accommodation in peak school holiday season and with 3 weeks notice. Not cool.

For anyone looking for unique, charming and characterful accommodation, this is the place for you! There’s absolutely nothing I can fault. Beautiful setting, the most amazing, hospitable mangers/ chefs/ staff and delicious food for Africa. I would 10/10 recommend Flycatcher castle and will 100% return in the future. Thank you so much!!

What a breathtaking place to stay and experience! The architecture, decor, antiques and gardens are to be seen to be believed! A real step back in time, with such attention to detail. And Eduardo & Willem are the consummate hosts, so wonderful & welcoming! What a glorious experience, I will be back!!

It is closed cannot get hold of anybody that knows anything and it is starting to look more rundown by the day from the outside. A great pity for our little town of Graskop to lose such an interesting landmark
