Very disappointing experienceI had made an appointment at Mangwanani Elangeni for Monday 4 January 2020 for my mum, my sister and I to have our treatments at 11:00. I had booked a full body massage for myself, a head, neck and shoulder massage and manicure with normal nail polish for my mum and a pedicure with normal nail polish for my sister. We arrived at the spa at 10:50. Upon entry into the spa, the welcome was very underwhelming. I say this because the therapists at the reception desk seemed very lethargic. At the reception desk I confirmed our treatments to the therapists. We were then asked to go through and take a seat. After a few minutes, one of the therapists asked us to complete the Client Covid-19 Medical Screening Declaration and also to complete our details in a separate receipt book and walked away. Two of the therapists returned and asked my mum and my sister which manicures and pedicures they were having, the express ones or the full spa manicure and pedicure. We told them the full spa manicure and pedicure. I had confirmed this with the manager upon making the booking and also with the therapists when entering the spa. The therapists then said that they don’t have normal nail polish, only gelish. I was very surprised at this. How can a spa not have a single bottle of normal nail polish and yet they offer this on their treatment list? I then asked the therapist since they don’t have normal nail polish and since it’s not our fault they don’t have stock and we were not informed upon making the booking that they don’t have normal nail polish, if they can do gelish nail polish at no extra charge for us. She said that they couldn’t and would have to charge us extra for the gelish. After a while, another therapist came through and asked my sister, which pedicure she is having and once again we needed to repeat ourselves. She too told us that they only have gelish nail polish and would have to charge us extra for the gelish.On principle, I think they should have done the gelish for us at no extra charge and we had also only budgeted for the manicures and pedicures with normal paint. We were left sitting there for a long time afterwards and then made our way to the reception desk where I informed the therapists that we will be cancelling the appointment. They then also informed us that they would not have been able to do all 3 of us at the same time because there were only two therapists and the third therapist needed to be at the reception desk. How can there not be enough therapists at the spa knowing that there’s a confirmed booking for 3 people at 11:00 to have their treatments at the same time? We were also the only people at the spa.I am appalled at the customer service at this spa and will not be returning, nor will I be recommending it to anyone. It seems to me that the Covid-19 pandemic has provided an excuse for service levels to deteriorate and for people to have nonchalant attitudes when it comes to customer service. I don’t usually give feedback publicly when I encounter bad service but in this particular instance, I felt compelled to do so and to let the owner know just what is happening at this spa so something can be done about improving the situation. This experience just put a damper on the whole day for us. We were so looking forward to some much-needed pampering.

My mom and I got great same-day service at this location, thanks to the branch manager Loretta and her fantastic staff of versatile therapists. I would definitely return to and recommend this location!

The spa has very friendly staff, we went for the night spa with Sam and Mbali whom made us feel at home. This place is definitely reccommended. The staff gets a five star rating.

I was at the spa yesterday travelled 2hours 30 mins to get my nails and feet done. The technician who was doing my nails supplemented the nail foundation with something else since she did not have and promised me that I would not have any problems. it hasn't been 24hrs but 4 of my gel nails came off already. I am beyond disappointed, it is unacceptable.

The therapists were amazing they welcomed us warmly. The massages were incredible. The only let down was the meal voucher which was little for the restaurant.

Unfortunately I am going to have to give this place one star. My partner booked us for the night spa and from the time we walked in the level of professionalism was shocking. We sat there for 15mins before anyone told us exactly what we were waiting for. The massage ladies spoke to each other the entire time while massaging us. They kept getting interrupted with personal matters. My massage therapist was shouting out her grocery list to her colleague during my treatment. Then the highlight of it all was they ran out of time so my full body massage was completely rushed. I woke up the next day with a terrible pain on the right hand side of my back and I am still suffering 3 days later. I will never ever go back to this Spa, it was a waste of money and not the experience I was expecting at all.

The massage was okay. The place could do with a makeover. The welcoming of clients was very lukewarm. Overall not my best spa experience.

Brought my daughter for kids spa treatments on her birthday. The spa looks terrible, very untidy, service is awful, kids are playing games in the same area as treatments being done. More like a play area, than a spa. Just not a good experience at all. So disappointed.

Im really disappointed this time round with this spa. There were a number of factors that we were not impressed with. The professionalism has gone down. Due to the pool outside there was alot of noise so your peace and tranquility is lost. I also slipped on the floor due to a wet puddle and could have got seriously hurt. While people were having massages done there was a handyman repairing a light????There was no privacy whilst other people were getting massages done. For the amount you pay for a half day spa session you expect better..... seems like the plot has been lost .....

I would like to compliment the highest level of customer service experience received at Mangwanani Spa, Elangeni Hotel.We had booked a Spa treatment to pamper my aunt who was celebrating her 100th birthday on the day. Loretta and her colleagues went above and beyond the call of duty and made my aunt’s centennial birthday a milestone to remember.The Spa had arranged for Gagasi FM, a Commercial Radio station to highlight her birthday on live radio and play a dedication of her most loved songs before she made her way to the Spa.The lady of the hour arrived to a delegation of welcoming smiles and birthday wishes waiting for her at the Hotel Entrance and was escorted into the Spa Facilities which were arranged and decorated in honour and celebration of my aunt’s birthday.Upon arrival she was treated to a healthy fruit platter during a mini presentation with words of congratulations on reaching this milestone. She was then gifted with a big chocolate birthday cake and a big box full of exquisite goodies, which included a warm gown, morning shoes, and a bath salts and body treatment hamper.After the Spa Treatments we arrived to a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine and dessert waiting for us at our hotel room.Thank you so much. You guys ROCK and are the BEST!
