The Courtyard Cafe, Bakery & Accommodation

This restaurant and bakery is PHENOMENAL!!!!!! I have eaten here twice already and plan on a third before leaving Clarens. Their food and staff are the best I have ever come across. It's so sad you aren't in Johannesburg because I would be there all the time ❤️

I am a returning customer. I love their custard slices. But I am incredibly disappointed in their service this year. It difficult to get a sit down table. When I tried to buy some pastries behind the counter, the woman just kept chatting to her friend, ignored me for a good 5 minutes, even though she kept making eye contact with me every so often. I put down the stuff that I was planning on purchasing and left. I'm so dissapointed I will not go back again.

Very central, clean comfortable nicely furnished rooms with fridge kettle and coffee pod machine. Comfy beds heater and fan provided.

This bakery is a must when you visit Clarens. The breakfast was something out of this world!

The service was Abonminable!! No one came to serve us. When they finally ptixhed the drinks took about 30 min or more to arrive. We gave up and left. Then I'm told that the baked good won't be on the bill I must leave my table and join the massive queue .

This is a quaint little coffee shop/ bakery.The breakfasts are mouthwatering. It has a nice view of the square and the mountains on the Western side.The freshly baked refreshments are delightful. They serve the best croissants I have ever tasted, in plain, almond and chocolate flavours. The Greek milk tarts are to die for! There are lots more to explore from Baklava and Meringue to home made jams and olive oils and other treats.In winter it has a nice gas fire tower" to warm you. It has some limited seating inside though. It has a patio with more seating outside.There are rest rooms available to use free of charge which are clean and neat. Just ask to be directed.Lots of free street parking available. Pet friendly. So take the 4 legged kids along!"

Highly not recommended!!!!! I was there with a group of friends.Service was really poor and slow. We ordered for over R600 and yet they charged us for a glass of lemon water, without having any decency of informing us. When we queried this by owner, she was absolutely rude and said we didn't order enough.If you are on holiday, this is the last place you'd want to go to..... Horrible service. Owner needs to catch a wake up!

OUT OF THIS WORLD! What an AMAZING experience it was at The COURTYARD and the Deli. Jane, the owner a 10/10 for the cottage we stayed in. A wonderful wonderful experience. We WOULD 100% stay at THE COURTYARD again and again! The Breakfasts we had at the Deli was top class. Friendly staff and great scones, brownies and custard slices!
