Ladismith Mountainview B & B / Self-catering Accommodation

We arrived at night when everything else was closed and the mountain view door was open and inviting. Although they were fully booked, instead of sending us back on the road we were offered a spare bedroom. We didn't see the official guest rooms, but ours were basic yet comfortable. The entire grounds were spotlessly clean. The best part of our stay was beautiful common area and in particular the hosts. We sat and drank with owners and were offered a delightful free dinner as we discussed our travels. The next morning they hand drew us a map to ensure we visited all of the sites in the area along the side roads and off the main tracks. I would highly recommend the mountain view, just make sure you grab a brandy at the bar and ask for recommendations for where to go. Also, ask about their farming background to get some entertaining stories. Also, breakfast was excellent.

Fantastic place, exactly what you look for in a BNB. Been there twice now and feel more confident about it than I was on my first experience. Really cultural! I can see a great family in the ground. 5 star fitting

I stayed at this B and B as part of a cycle tour. We experienced wonderful hospitality. The food was excellent: we had a buffet with lamb, kudu and chicken - all beautifully cooked and delicious. I enjoyed my stay so much that I will make a point of staying here again the next time I stop on Route 62.

The landlady and landlord together with their staff are highly skilled and trained to ensure superb country style services to visitors. Their food is class!

Regarding self catering flat K...The hot water in the shower is a probkem and the soap holder had body hair in it .I personally got bitten by something on my stomach while sleeping??? and when I switched the light on.... i saw creepy crawlies.Pulled away a couch and saw a broom hasn’t been there in a long time...so to sum it up.... hiegene standard is very poor. The place needs to be fumigated.

Whilst the B&B was clean with really friendly staff it's really dated. Only two channels to watch on an old tv set. No WiFi in rooms and uncomfortable chairs to sit on for work(business traveler). Supper which is offered was decent...home cooked meals. Breakfast was ok. Not for a long stay ....definately just for a night or so.

We doing a road trip and ended up at this destination for overnight stay without pre-booking.Marianne immediately made us feel welcome! Her hospitality and fun loving nature made us want to stay even longer but unfortunately we had to leave because we have a lot more road to cover before heading back to Cape Town.Both Marianne and her husband joined us for super at the Pub and we ended up meeting a few more locals , such a fun night!The accommodation was everything we needed, very clean , the bed was very comfortable, we had an amazing nites rest.We will definetly recommend staying over if you pass through Ladismith. Maybe not the most beautiful rooms in South Africa, but the employees and owners were super friendly and nice to us. We felt absolutly comfortable and had a great overnight stay. The rooms give you everything you need. Thanks a lot!
