I do not usually name and shame, and it saddens me to do so, but this is a matter close to my heart.On Sunday afternoon, our 9-week-old poodle puppy started showing some very severe and strange symptoms and was not doing very well at all. He was dizzy, could not walk, kept collapsing, was completely unresponsive and could not judge distance.We were in Kleinbrak at the time and had to race back to George. All the vets we called did not answer our phone calls, the one vet that did pick up was a vet at the George Animal Hospital. When we arrived, he asked us if we had been there before, we said no, he then asked us where we had gone before, we informed him that we had taken him to Vital Vet in York street. He then asks us, Well

A better team you won't find. From the Drs to the reception and staff assisting with the animals, they are all caring, understanding and friendly. You can be sure your pet will be well taken care of here.

I took my 13 year old senior girl for a check up. She was diagnosed with early stage 1 kidney failure in October 2021 she was given a special diet. In March 2022 I went to George Animal Hospital as my previous vet by another practice left. I asked for a kidney function test again and this time my girls kidney function was back to normal! I insisted that the injections that she had been getting by the previous vet continue, but the vet said that if I use Metacam then studies has shown that Metacam improves kidney functions. Obviously I trusted him and started giving my girl Metacam thinking wow I'm helping her. 2 Months later my girl was not well and I took her in on the 13th of May and insisted on a kidney test I was told its not necessary as in March everything was fine, but I had a gut feeling... My girl was in complete kidney failure. I HAVE READ AND CONSULTED MANY PROFESSIONALS... EVENS THE MANUFACTURERS OF METACAM SAYS METACAM IS NOT MADE TO GIVE TO CATS AND SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT BE GIVEN TO CATS WITH ANY FORM OF KIDNEY PROBLEMS (PAST AND PRESENT) your unethical lack of knowledge and wanting to play God over my pet has led to me loosing my girl that I have gone through alot and was my companion for 13 years. I have attached a photo in case you can't remember my girl, who you took from me.

Our Jack Russell had cruciate knee ligament repair done by dr Blignaut. Excellent job. After few weeks she was running around like a puppy!Our golden retreiver/sheepdog cross breed was very ill for weeks. First vet could not found the problem. Took him for second opinion to George animal hospital. Diagnosis was made the same day and he recovered after excellent treatment. Thankyou

If you are not a regular client, don't bother to ask for assistance. Despite being a client prior for 6 years and paid timeously often keeping a credit fir emergencies. . An equine vet refused to assist me when I had a emergency and was unable to reach my vet. He said it was because I had changed to another vet. I changed due to the fact that this vet in question refused to give me emergency meds for my horses, I have 6, to keep in my first aid box. This despite that another vet at the George Animal Clinic practice had always made this available to me, as we live a distance out of town. Thank goodness I did make the change to another vet who did not hesitate assist me. It proved to be life saving this weekend as most horse emergencies require immediate action and vets most often can only respond within 45 min. Not sorry I don't have to deal with the self-righteous attutude and God complex of one of this vet.

First time client, helped with a smile. Unfortunately our pup didn’t make it but the 3 days leading up to him passing I was treated with respect and compassion. Very knowledgeable doctor and very helpful and caring ladies at the desk. The doctor even called me on his day off from his personal phone to update me.We took our other dog in without an appointment, were assisted quickly and again - explainations, time spent fully checking him out and making sure he was healthy. Thank you so much to everyone who assist us - we will sing your praises and recommend you to anyone.

I leave this review with a broken heart, The vet misdiagnosed our beloved family dog. saying she had sore muscles and needed to walk around to stretch them, he was in a rush to get home since it was voting day, so he didn't bother to do exrays only a visual inspection. We were forced to take her to a different vet the very next morning as we ddnt agree with his diagnosis, turns out she had multiple slipped disc's and the worse thing to do was to force her to walk and stretch her muscles like he told us. We noticed that the vet is not very sympathetical towards animals at all either, we could pick it up while he was treating our pup. Unfortunately this review won't bring our baby back, she is no longer with us. Wouldn't recommend this vet.

Friendly and helpful staff. Not just a vet though, have variety of dog food, toys, etc.
