I used to love the food here but the quality is not the same. The conference facility is acceptable but not the greatest. The staff are friendly but alot has changed

Had brilliant Sunday roast on 16 April 2023 for a steal. We have had a number of Sunday lunches at Snooty Fox over the past two years and without fail the food is great. The veggies are always fresh and the roast is always excellent.Highly recommended. Local is leka

Fern Hill Hotel
We had my brother's graduation party at Fern Hill. Everything from the food to the service is at an exceptionally high level. It is beautiful, quiet, clean and serene and they have a variety of venues on site to suit the needs of your event, depending on the number of people invited. Pat, Mandy and the rest of the group are patient with you and take their time to listen to your input and give suggestions. Don't be afraid to ask them questions. They will do their best to meet your needs and make your event the best it can be. Will definitely schedule more family events there in the future.

Old Hotel. It is very basic with little to do at the hotel. Take your own toiletries. Very limited supply. Aircons did not work nor did the TV. Reported twice, but no action taken.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable clean .Please put some emergency lights in the rooms at least or have a back up generator. Please put a mosquito net or mosquito repellents in the rooms. We woke up at 3.30 before a race to no electricity so after being bothered by mosquitoes all night we had to leave in the dark, with no coffee. The water pressure was a problem, so couldn't even shower. There was also no WiFi access in the rooms but as we were not on business it wasn't serious. The maintenance people did fix water on Saturday morning after requesting and it was fine on Saturday afternoon. I'm guessing it is an ongoing problem.The restaurant was pleasant, friendly staff and food was tasty and enjoyable.

We ate at the Snooty Fox restaurant and was very pleasant.Service was good but a few items were missing off the menu. This was a little disappointing as really wanted to try the Lamb Curry.The facilities give a feeling of something grand in a past life. Now they are looking a bit dated and in need of a refresh.Prices are a little bit higher than the surrounding area.Overall a very pleasant experience but the hotel needs some investment to return to its former glory.

Attended a Valentines supper. The food was well prepared and the venue was decorated for the month of love. Live music set the scene and led to some romantic dancing. Guests were seen attentively and the staff were friendly and engaging.

Lovely restaurant, The Snooty Fox, inside Fern Hill hotel in Howick (opposite Midmar dam). Great service, fire place, AWESOME food! Loved it!!

Fern Hill Hotel
This is an Iconic Hotel not far out of Howick. The buildings are a reminder of classic years of local opulence. The restaurant is beautiful and the menu and wine list provide excellent fare. A must to visit and savour!
