This property is in such a great location, it has loads of potential.Unfortunately, quite a few things bring it down though, firstly, the chalets look terrible. The stove, fridge, tables etc are very very old and I had to ask for someone to instal new gas before I could use the stove. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets and duvets were incredibly old and looked dirty. The pillows, in particular, were terrible! The staff aren't great either. I understand it's a lodge but the lady at the bar couldn't even tell me what wine they had, and then proceeded to give me the unopened bottle of wine to open myself. The owner's dog was also in the restaurant, this is basic guys, surely you can't have your dog in a restaurant? The cold water pool was fine, but the hot water pool looks terrible, dirty and it smells.Overall, I loved the setting, but the actual accommodation not so much.

Where do I start? Maybe with the fact that the lodge is only accessible by a +20km dirt road, which was not communicated upon our booking. There's also absolutely no cellphone reception within the dirt road or the lodge, so should something happen, I wish you the best of luck and can only hope that you will be equipped with the necessary survival skills. The dirt road took us around an hour to navigate, before finally reaching the lodge. To our surprise, definitely a peaceful and secluded accommodation. With a variety of wildlife, it was easy to settle in, even after a horrid driving experience. The accommodation itself was bare and underwhelming. I recommend bringing your own bedding and a can of doom is a must! It was said that the lodge has Dstv but to our surprise, there wasn't even a TV to begin with! I also recommend bringing your own sanitizer because there was absolutely nothing at the lodge, or within their facilities. To add to this, almost no one wears a mask or seems to care about something that has been tragic for so many of us. Would I go again? No. Would I go again with a better equipped vehicle? No. Would I even engage in a conversation about going back to this place? No. Would I think about my awful experience while I take my car for balancing and alignment? Yes

Lovely place but very disappointed. The chalet we got was not the one I clicked on when booking. Although we were the only people there we got the smallest of the smallest chalets. Upon ariving we started asking: Game drive? No gamedrive when there is so few people. Restaurant? No not worth the effort. ( so next morning we had to drive all the way back to Nylstroom as we bargained on one or two meals at the restaurant. Warm swimming pool? Uh, if you really want to we will warm it. We discovered and decided there will be no canoeing on the dam as the canoes lying there were definitely not to trust. And still we were charged the full amount. So at least they could have offered us a bigger chalet seeing we missed out on everything offered on their website AND all the other chalets were empty!

The Good - -An okay place to go on holiday if you aren't fussy. Very quite place with sprinkles of game on the property. Nice laid back environment. There are two swimming pools one of which is heated. Pools looks decently maintained. Kitchen utensils were decently stocked. Fridge worked perfectly on the freezer side. Cleaning staff is there promptly every morning. They seem well stocked with the charcoal briquettes, wood and ice. Service from staff was friendly and efficient in general. The Not so good - -I wasn't impressed with the aesthetic upkeep of the rooms in general though. Paintwork was subpar. Toilet fittings were loose in some cases. Water was for me not fit for drinking so you'll need to bring your own. I saw once or twice a cockroach so the rooms might need the occasional fumigation.

Truth be told. This place is terrible. To get to the place you feel like you took a wrong turn or in a horror movie. There is no network, reception is very bad. The area is super scary, beds and overall health is totally not considered. Smelly rooms and full of dirt. You have to get rid of Spider webs and death spider. Surely you can sleep with a snake there. That place needsfor not suitable for human being. Fake advertising. I will never ever recommend that place to anyone. I sat there the whole night, waited until tomorrow to get away

This is a gem of a lodge. Warm water and cold water swimming pool! A dam with canoes to row on! A putt putt course (although this is only a cement putt putt course, but only costing R5 makes up for it) there are some hiking options as well. The game on the farm is also a real bonus! Excellent service from the staff. All round an really lekker get away spot.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was really peaceful and a perfect fit for our desire to get away from the busy city life. There was no signal which was a bonus for us, as this resulted in some good quality time together. The bird life was absolutely amazing and the antelopes on the property also added to the pleasure of being in nature. We also enjoyed rowing on the dam as well as the put put course which proved to be challenging as my wife managed to beat me. We even enjoyed the well maintained 11km gravel road.Nothing to complain about.

Chantelle the receptionist is very rude and racist towards other cultures except white Afrikaans people. Very impatient with children alone, but nice when parents are with. Place not the same as advertised. Units are just bare necessities. beds squished into the passage, not in separate bedrooms. NO WIFI at units, NO TV, BAD ROAD, NO TOWELS, NO SOAP, Not pet friendly as advertised, told us to take our dogs back 3 hour drive. WILL NOT RECOMMEND !!

The GoodPeaceful, beautiful views a great place to rest. There's a friendly man that works there. The bad.You need a big car 4x4 for the very long dirt road. In rainy season, even the big cars get stuck on that road.A doom is a big must, have 2 cans. The chalets don't get cleaned before your arrival. We found spider webs in the stove. The kitchen cupboards look like they haven't been cleaned since pre covid. Wasps all over the chelets right next to the beds. No effort at was made to try clean the chalet. The lady at reception made us feel like our arrival inconvenienced her. When we tried ordering sandwiches for lunch she couldn't even look at us for longer than a second and gave one word answers. She did an exceptional job making us feel unwelcomed and unwanted. The game driveThe game drive will happen or not happen depending on how they feel.
