Ocean View Montessori SCHOOL
This school has been the most incredible home away from home for both our children. They have both recieved the best foundation for their growth, physically, cognitively and emotionally. Ocean View will forever be in our hearts and will always be our first recommendation. The Montessori method as been given life with a twist of love through the incredible staff and principals, and as parents we see the fruit of their labour, love and passion through our children.

The most incredible 'hidden gem' of a school. I have visited almost every preschool in Durban, and as a teacher myself I found no other school to meet my (very high) expectations! The teachers are supportive, insightful and incredibly hands on with the children.When my child started I was asked what he enjoyed, and my response (amongst other things) was gardening and experiments. On his very first day of school he was greeted by his teacher with some plants which they then went off to plant, and during the course of the day he told me that they did an experiment with colourful water too.I could not recommend Ocean View Montessori enough.

This is such an amazing little school. It's like a family and a very nurturing, homely environment. Both my kids were very happy there and developed a lot of confidence. They also looked forward to school each day because the learning process is so engaging and fun. When they joined a mainstream school in grade 4, both were far ahead of their contemporaries in all subjects.

I love the whole ethos of this incredible school - small school with the biggest heart. They celebrate each child for exactly who they are, and value a Montessori-led education weaved into a lens focused on nature and the environment. Every teacher is kind and caring. Highly recommend!

My son was at Ocean View since he was 2… I still say it’s the best thing we could have done for him. His sense of self, his being with the world, the way he interacts with the world are just some of the social development skills he gained at OVM. He left the school a confident and loving 9 year old.

We have spent 5 years in OVM and the level of dedication from the teachers is exceptional. It is truly a family!! The planning that goes on for special occasions, art displays, excursions, year end shows and the different sports is amazing. I could not have chosen a better school that teaches both parent and child. My daughter loves going to school every day.
