Huis Uitsig managed to keep covid away, mostly. The staff is very good, and patient as well. The residents are entertained by various artists regularly. Now that covid is no mre, hopefully they will have their annual fete. Always enjoyable

Much nicer than in the pictures, everyone is really nice and the facilities are clean and accessible to all.

We had a wonderful time at the Christmas market. Friendly staff and friendly people.

The place is old but very clean and well maintained. The tenants all seems very happy to stay there. The service is excellent.

My review is long overdue - 13 years to be precise. My father stayed- and died here in 2007. Of course he would have preferred to keep on living and dying in his own home, but sadly that was not to be. He was never going to be an ideal retirement home candidate, but he was well looked after here. Neither my late father nor I were easy customers to deal with, but both of us were dealt with compassionately and humanely until the day he died - and beyond. Which brings me to the following: as an only child and single mother, there was absolutely no way in which I would be able to feed the masses who, having sadly been absent during his stay in Uitsig, would descent en masse on the church service held for him at the home and the inevitable after-party. I have decided to make sandwiches and delivered it to the home on the day before the funeral. On the day of the funeral, I have found the table beautifully laid and my meagre offering being replaced by a beautiful spread of sandwiches, small pastries and freshly-baked cakes made by Uitsig staff, for which they have refused to accept any reimbursement from me.

My mom is a resident and all I can say is thank you! Thank you to all the nurses /sisters/caregivers at Huis Uitsig,my mom is happy and extremelly well cared for!

Elderly are well looked after and the people are always laughing and singing on the stoep. I am sure they would be grateful for any financial assistance but they place is well run and better maintained than any government building considering how little they get from government

They make it unpleasant by refusing children to go see their grandparents at the home.Our family pay for my grandmother to stay there but my nephew is not allowed in! They work for us and not other.way around.
