Midlands Saddle and Trout

spent the weekend here and honestly what a wonderful stay/ experience. my family and I really enjoyed our time here. breakfast was good, accommodation was neat and clean , and housekeeping was efficient, facilities are well maintained and lots of activities too do especially for kids. the views are also really amazing and peaceful, would definitely recommend and visit again

Overall a lovely stay in an extremely beautiful place. Quiet and tranquil and a nice change from busy life. The staff truly went above and far beyond to make it an enjoyable trip.

This is a great place for everyone, family friends, couples and kids. The games co-ordinator Nonhlanhla is more than worthy and never ceases to keep the kids active and happy. This is an overall great destination for a warm place to stay, great food and many fun activities. Whether you are a fisher or a reader there is something for you. There are multiple games such as tabletennis, pool, there is also an actual pool with a slide, there are walking paths, you can go horseriding and much more.

We loved our weekend at Saddle and Trout! The views are stunning and the house was looked after and clean. Our housekeeper, Janice, was very efficient and friendly too. There were so many activities for children but it's definitely more relaxed/less to do for adults. The horse riding was my favourite part for sure! They're well looked after and the staff are extremely knowledgeable making sure you are safe at all times. Super friendly and happy to help when needed. As loadshedding is so terrible I do recommend bringing some sort of small camping cooker or burner as this area is affected quite badly. Overall, definitely recommend

You guys should invest in a generator or inverter . We leave the city life to enjoy the berg yet we have to undergo loadshedding for more then twice a day at 4/5 hours per time .Besides the load shedding ,the place is wonderful and neat .loads of activities: swimming/tennis/horse ridding/cycles /electric scooters /game room/bon fire /fishing/golf.A perfect escape from the daily routine!!!

My sisters n I stayed at Saddle n Trout in April and had a really enjoyable experience. We took the rest of the family there 2 weeks ago. What a disappointment. The bikes were in for repairs. The volleyball was deflated. The staff were confused about the horse riding times so we missed our ride. We had to remind reception to send towels to the 4 cottages that we booked. Overall a disappointing 2nd experience.

An absolutely beautiful resort. Unfortunately it is being run by incompetent staff. Upon entering the resort we were greeted by clueless staff members behind the desk. We were then given the keys to a room that was thrashed and covered with dirt. On top of that the ceiling from the porch had completely collapsed! After negotiating with staff we were then given the keys to another room. The guest bedroom was filthy and covered in dust. The beds have stains and hair(not mine) on it. The guest bathroom toilet seat was so broken it was unusable. The baths in both bathrooms were filthy. Along with the poor hygiene, there were several broken facilities such as a broken TV, broken toilet seat and stove and no DTSV decoder despite this being one of the facilities that were supposed to be supplied.The next day the manager sent cleaners to the room. Because my family was sleeping they promised to return at half past 10. They in fact did not return. We waited for over three hours and still nothing. Speaking to management is pointless. When we returned to our chalet after a short shopping trip, the chalet was cleaned". The dirty bedding had not been changed and the baths were still filthy.I recommend that the staff make an effort to create a more comfortable place for their guests to stay. It is really upsetting to be traveling so far only to be met with dirty rooms and staff that don't do anything to accommodate our complaints."

Let me start off with the background of the area. I’ve been coming to Midlands saddle and Trout for over 8 years now and it’s sad to see it deteriorate over the years. My recent stay which was week 11 Friday to Sunday was absolutely shocking. From a fly invested unit- unit 16A to a untidy house. Everyone seems so relaxed about how bad the resort is, I spoke to a lady which was doing her “check up rounds” after complaining to her not one thing done. The only positive of the resort is the tranquil views and atmosphere. I strongly recommend no one stays here until it’s returned back to how it was.
