I cannot speak for buying a property through Cornerstone, but unfortunately selling through Cornerstone was the worst experience I've ever had with any agency in the 15 years that I've been involved with buying, selling and renting properties.If you want to sell your multi million Rand home and are considering partnering with Cornerstone, please think twice. Be very careful, do your homework and be very sure before you sign the contracts; or if they promise you they have a buyer secured, at least put some non-performance clauses in so that they cannot walk away with 100% of their fee even if they do not perform 100%.You’re welcome to look at all my other reviews, I’m not that hard to please, but when I fall victim to exceptionally poor service, I think it’s my public duty to warn others to not potentially make the same mistake I did and hopefully spare them the destitution I had to go through. I’m hoping the reason I got such poor service is because they were too busy providing great service to other customers, but if this is the new trend, I’m very worried. For example, go look at my review of Morrow’s attorneys – compliments to their owner for handling a difficult situation well.Not so with Cornerstone, once the documents were signed, I basically never heard from them again; they did not deliver on any of the promises of support to conclude the sale. The agent did not get back to me and started avoiding my calls; emails was also not answered, despite managers being on cc. Eventually I had to spend a lot of my own time and effort to get certain tasks the agent was supposed to assist me with done and the sale concluded successfully.There were also some gross errors on the agent’s side in terms of neglecting to have certain important information with the purchaser documented in writing which caused quite the hot potato at a stage that was left for me resolve on my own along with the lawyers; Cornerstone did not take ownership, did not support me to resolve the matter although it was within their power, and continued ignoring my requests for support. They eventually left everything to almost go pear shape and once the transfer was finally through and their fee paid, they claimed innocence in the matter.I tried to amicably resolve the matter and proposed a slight reduction in their fee as a sign of goodwill because they did not provide the level of service I expected to get when we initially agreed on the fee; they obviously just kept ignoring me. Typical “once they have your money they are done with you” behaviour.After my last follow up the manager did get back to me at long last, but it was evident that he was ill informed, did not go through the various correspondence with his agent and basically told me the deal was concluded, they have nothing left to say to me and I should leave them be.Looking at their website I thought I would get the same level of prestige service than agencies like Harcourts, Pam Golding and Only Realty provide, but unfortunately it was a far cry from it.I’m willing to share all documentation and correspondence to substantiate this review, but the POPI act will probably prevent me from doing so.

Great people, best service

I have recieved terrible service as a tennant in a flat managed by Cornerstone. They are impossible to get hold of, reject my calls and ignore messages for weeks at a time. Maintainence work when done after weeks of follow ups, has been done as cheaply as possible and never done adequately. Do not recommend!
