Iron Crown Pub and Bistro
What a lovely spot. We sat outside, but take a walk through the bar area. There is an interesting bell hanging from the wall.The owner was friendly and we felt very welcome. The ladies who served us were amazing at recommending what to have and very engaging.Their burgers are incredible. Come hungry.The salad was delish with great fresh ingredients.All in all, a refreshing stop and great experience. We’ll be be back.

Love the service and the vibe. It's where locals and travellers both stop for a refreshing drink.The vegan burger patty is AMAZING! Best I've had!

It's a really good pub. The burgers are HUGE and great value for money. There are even kids items on the menu, but that does not really make them kid friendly. Too many smoking sections and no place to sit outside unless you smoke. Also steer clear of this place of you have any food allergies as the waiters are not even sure what gluten is. This is very common in South Africa though so not a big deal. Ordered a small plate of chips and bacon for my 3 year old and the portion was so big I would not have been able to finish it.

It was just awful. We ordered a steak and ale pie. The pie had very little steak and no ale it was full of unappetizing grey gruel .My partner had rump and vegetables. If we weren't hungry and if there was another open option we would have left. The steak was ordered medium and came out very rare , it looked like it had been boiled.The vegetables were spread thinly on the plate. I asked the waitress for tobasco sauce at the start of our meal it came once we had completed it.

We popped in for a quick beer after our hike.Had two ice cold beers on tap.Beers were fresh and glassware was clean.Waitress was also good and attentive, service was friendly and quick.Had some chicken strips and rissoles... A bit stodgy. Not bad, but not amazing.Their burgers do look pretty good though. Will definitely try a burger the next time we visit.

Pictures Copyright ©️ blackjohannes. Pictures as is and was not edited or manipulated. Haenertsburg is a quaint little town in the Magoebaskloof area in Limpopo between Polekwane and Tzaneen. It is one of those little towns you just have to make a stop. It will take you 5 minutes to drive through the whole town, however the area is probably one of the most beautiful green nature areas in Limpopo. The town reminded you a little about the old mining town of Pilgrimsrest in Lowveld of Mpumalanga. We started at a coffee shop, however like all the shops we visited, the people are not friendly or helpful. Quite a snobbish vibe. However, the pub is different. The owner was very welcoming and immediately explained about the area and was helpful. The service was good. Nice stop for bikers as well. The pub is clean and has a cozy feeling to it and nice outside are to sit. There is a lot on the menu and prices are reasonable.

Iron Crown is a special place. The ambiance is a bit cold and the setup is that of a medieval restaurant almost like something you would find on a game of thrones set. The atmosphere was just harsh and none of us were able to finish our food. The fries were horrible, We weren’t offered any salad dressing, the drinks came loaded with tons of ice, the restaurant owner seemed a bit uncomfortable with our presence. It was an overall poor experience.
