Joanne is one of the most friendliest photographers we met. She was so prefessional and detailed, and was always willing to answer any questions we had about the shoot. On the day of the shoot she went the extra mile to ensure the weather was perfect and ensuring everyone was comfortable including a fussy one year old. We are so happy with the pictures and will definitely be making use of her service again. Keep up the great work.

Joanne's photography is simply fantastic. Each time I've asked her to take photos - be it wedding, maternity, newborn or family photos - I have always been more than happy with the end result. Plus Joanne has a way of putting one at ease when taking photos so the photos look natural, not stilted or posed. Also, her prices are very reasonable. She sure is one talented photographer!

Joanne Markland is one of the best photographers we've ever met. And we have talked with a lot of photographers and screened their portfolio before we met her. She has taken our family pictures (from weeding to maternity, newborn and also couple images) for five years now. And we are from Germany, but every time looking forward to going to South Africa and taking pictures with her. It is such a joy to hang new pictures on our wall in the living room at home. My husband and I are so in love with Joanne's pictures of our wedding day! It was exactly how we pictured it to be - very romantic and soft, with a great background setting. We hoped for a beautiful sunny day for our wedding but it turned out to be quite misty. Somehow Joanne made the mist work on the beach and we were able to get some great shots, with excellent contrast making us and all our guests pop as the subjects in the photos. We didn't need the sunset to make our photos look beautiful after all! Joanne met with us a few months before the wedding to discuss what we had in mind. On the day she was punctual and had an assistant. She was so calm throughout the day and went that extra mile to get the perfect shot. She worked well with our planner, second photographer and videographer. She has done some stunning photoshoots at Llandudno Beach, and would say she is the best at beach time photoshoots. We would not hesitate to recommend Jo as a wedding photographer. We were incredibly lucky to find her and her photos from the day were outstanding - she is so talented and professional and her work is first class. We were delighted with the end results. She is also fantastic to have around on your wedding day. She is a lovely person - very natural and down to earth, and with a great sense of humour as a bonus! We don't generally enjoy having our photos taken but she made us feel comfortable and we all had great fun too. We are so glad we chose Jo as our photographer and cannot thank her enough for all she did for us.

Joanne Markland Photography is amazing! Jo is one of the nicest people we know, she makes you feel so comfortable and she truly captures you and your family at your best. Even in absolute chaos of 2 kids and a dog! Shes traveled on our journey of life with us from our wedding day, the births of both our kids and family photoshoots with both our crazy families. Jo is such an amazing person to work with. We are from Jhb and she was in contact with me at all times. She contacted me to notify me about the weather for our beach family photo shoot.When it was set to rain we then arranged for the next day when the weather was great. She is professional and takes stunning pics. My family enjoyed being around her and had the best time taking photo's. The time and effort she puts in definitely reflects in the end result. We asked to work with Joanne after seeing her online portfolio and website. She was extremely gracious in email and on the phone... and finally in person.She made all 3 of us feel at ease and captured us in natural moments – not the over-posed family portraits that we did not want. (She was also great with our son and can discuss Hot Wheels like a pro.)We were only in Cape Town for a short time, but looking at the photos now, we realise that Joanne took more than just our picture. She captured the energy of the time we spent there and our love for the country where our son was born. Photos... anyone with a smartphone can do that. Capturing moments takes someone special. We are forever grateful to Joanne for being that special someone.
