Waterval Country Lodge

Had an amazing experience this past weekend with my HTC group. Friendly hosts and staff with really good food and scenery.

We had an annual company retreat here and were absolutely blown away by the hosting and customer service received.With a group of close to forty people, we were in great hands. From the accommodation (comfortable beds, private bathrooms, air-conditioning) to the professional and friendly staff (continuously keeping the fires stoked, clearing plates, ensuring there is no clutter), this was an absolute treat.If I had to provide some constructive criticism, it would be aimed at the kitchen which felt like there was room for improvement, but other than that meals were served on time and the staff ensured that there was sufficient food for our large group.Massive shout out to Hein and the team at Waterval - we'll definitely be back in future and really appreciated the superb service and epic experience which you provided to our company.10/10 would recommend.

MJC Women's Forum had an awesome Youth camp with 40 teens. Everything was amazing, from the location, and the 2 hour hike, the scrumptious meals and the friendly staff. Thank you all so very much.

The perfect weekend getaway. The facility is clean and comfortable. Despite the cold the accommodation was cosy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The views are spectacular with the bright yellow canola fields and surrounded by mountain range. Will definitely go back again and hope I can take my whole family next time because the place is perfect for big groups.

I enjoyed the team building exercises the most. The owner is so passionate about his tasks. Life lessons learnt there!!!

A very beautiful relaxing glamping destination.It does need some more comforts in the tents such as microwave, kettle and bar fridge, water point and braai area per tent.Although I had a fabulous time

Absolutely loved it. Nature, fresh air, hot water showers and private toilet... Beds that encourage sleeping in and an air-conditioner in your tent to fend off the worst of the day's heat. Reliable WiFi and power points conveniently placed in in the tents where you need them. Tulbagh is 15 minutes away for supplies. Friendly, customer oriented service all the way and a focus on ensuring that people are enjoying their stay right from the start. Food is as advertised rustic, but delicious and generally healthy. Hein and his staff have hit a sweet spot between camping an introducing a touch of comfort and convenience that I've not seen others hit. I still have a day left and would prefer to stay on longer. I'll be back before the end of the year to come see the waterfall in full force. Thanks for the awesome getaway!

The 'glamping' in the tent was not great for me. It was windy, and the tent was flapping against the beds. The bathroom door couldn't close so that too was slamming non stop because of the wind. The shower was a trickle of water, although we had hot water, some tents didn't. I was unable to sleep for 2 nights, had to move to a chalet. A snake was spotted outside one of the tents which freaked me out completely. I understand it's in the mountainside and the wind didn't help, so I suppose we were bound to run into some snakes.
