Our factory/store was looted in the recent acts of sout African protest and criminality and all my work tools and furniture and appliances had been stolen. With no insurance and work on the horizon I started scouting gumtree, Facebook and olx for second hand tools. I continuously saw Rivens ads on Facebook and Gumtree. His pricing on quality tools is better than the stores so I decided to go and meet him. I called ahead to setup an impromptu time to meet. He sounded professional. His based in Newlands. It's abit of a maze but Google maps got me there. It was a house. He apparently has a showroom in his home but i was informed its closed due to covid regulations. His garage albeit disorganized was full of new and used tools. Whilst he was not dressed professional he has a good character and demeanor which is important for me. I had a look at the dewalt flipnsaw that he had at a great price and quizzed him on other tools and saw him advertising. He was accommodating. I decided to sleep on the purchase as I was purchasing tools on my credit card and it was painful. The next morning I decided to bite the bullet and go for the flip saw. Unfortunately Riven was caught up in grocery shopping which is now also a disaster between the stores that are left, the food that is left and the covid restrictions. He always answered his phone and informed me of such. Unfortunately we could not meet and I arranged to meet the next day. I ended buying the flip saw, two new makita batteries (for an old makita cordless which thankfully was at home due to the old failed batteries) and a used wurth metal detector. Riven opened the new equipment in front of me for inspection. He provided and invoice and I did a same bank eft with geopayment. All in all I enjoy supporting a small business much like myself and will definitely continue purchasing from Riven unless the service is poor or the pricing is better elsewhere.
