River Cottages, Kopjeskraal Road, Parys

We had our team building (20 people)at River cottages and it was awesome.We stayed in 2 out of the 4-5 houses available..what was nice is that their were no other guests.Braai area with outside table, pool, bonfire area.Awesome river rafting available ask Host.

After rains, river was 2mtr higher than normal, fishing was tough, loved the venue

Would not recommend the place to anyone. The entire resort is in need of major repairs. The first unit we where given I would not let my worst enemy stay in. The second unit was a lot better.The was another group that also booked in the same time as us and we'll they did not give 2 hoots about anyone else. Partied till 3 in the morning and where as loud as they could be..The entire experience totally messed yp 5 days of my leave to say the least

Poorly maintained. Paint falling off walls. Cracks in the walls. Broken toilet seat. Poorly painted cold concrete floors. Broken front door with lock that does not work. Layout of the venue venue as is haphazard with poor dirt roads between our unit and the front gate. Loud music from units next door with people brought in for a party by the taxi load.

I spent my 21st birthday party there and it was FUN!! The venue is stunning and mostly relaxed for a weekend away. We opted for self catering as they have a beautiful swimming pool that is just by the river plus river rafting as well as a braai area and bon fire area with suffiecient space and seating for 6 people with a full kitchen area that lacks nothing for a weekend away.Just don't forget to pack your irons or perhaps i just dailed to request one but overall! The place was greaygreat

We had a great girls weekend. Julia, the hostess was efficient and friendly. The house was communal and cozy and helped us feel connected but not claustrophobic. It was great.

Nice place... The river houses are spacious, well equipped, everything works... Just the administration side needs to be improved. Otherwise we had a great stay.

I am absolutely disgusted at the accommodation set up and bad attitude of Kevin the owner of river cottages and my birthday weekend away was completely ruined. We booked a 2 sleeper 'cottage' only to drive 2 hours and find we had been put in a little room right at the back end of the property with not even a view of the river. Our 'bedroom' had absolutely no privacy and was basically a house share with another family! We had no porch or balcony, just a step leading out to another room in front of ours. There was only one communal braai area which to be shared with strangers and no where to sit if I rained so we would have basically been confined to our bedroom. There were braais right at the bottom along the river but these were absolutely flooded so they couldn't be used. When we explained our disappointment to Kevin the owner he was extremely rude to my husband and told him 'we are just making excuses and he will not give us a refund' and he put the phone down. I am extremely upset, frustrated and disappointed as this was a holiday for my birthday weekend which we had been so looking forward to and now its ruined. I actually wish I had taken photos of the accommodation as the photos on the website are completely deceiving.

Very tranquil and quiet place on the river with excellent staff. Go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
