Love it. Charles Cafe is in the Old part of Cape Town (Waterkant), in the original house. They have seating outside and inside. Inside seating is in Separate *rooms* of the house. Outside, or on top, has a stunning view of the Waterkant and the City. Parking is always an issue in Cape Town. Food and coffee was great. Will go back

An incredible brunch experience. The Bloody Mary was 11/10, I’ll go back just for that. It’s also a lovely setting under the trees. The ground is a bit uneven, so those with mobility difficulties may need to be careful when navigating the sidewalk.

Friendly welcome..Bobotie and Eggs benedict with salmon were both winners and eye-pleasers.. only negative was the open staircase to the rooms..with large spaces inbetween. .no parking and not wheelchair friendly..

The Charles has a superlative wine list, wonderful and knowledgeable staff and enjoyable food which can be a bit rich at times, while always tasty. Their beans come from Hout Bay coffee which means their coffee is out of this world. I have enjoyed breakfast benedicts and yummy burgers as well as dessert with excellent wine and return regularly.

Every member of staff was warm and welcoming. We ended up on a beautiful rooftop overlooking De Waterkant and basking in morning sun. Their breakfast risotto was one of the most surprisingly delicious breakfast dishes I've had in a long time. Excellent coffee to boot. A really excellent place to spend a morning, although they offer lunch and dinner which we will be back for.

Came here for a glass of wine. Ended up drinking multiple glasses as well as having dinner. What a gem of a place! Best wine list I have seen in a long time! And I can recommend the Iberian pork wholeheartedly! (photo attached)

Great location - amazing to sit outside underneath a tree. Tasty croissant, good spiced chai latte, espresso was too sour/bitter. Shashukka was nice. Tasty bread!Good place for breakfast! The staff was amazing. - really good service and super friendly.

Marvelous and slow.The service part was very slow, to a point we would starve and drink everything before the food arrived.Though the food was a pure mastery of presentation and tastes, colors and textures.Didn’t expect that from a coffeee place.Absolute recommend to stop by.The neighborhood being very attractive too it’s a pleasant place to stay for hours.
